How to identify which MINI Model You Have?
A Guide for Mintech Spares UK Customers (2001–2025)
If you’re a proud owner of a MINI but aren’t quite sure which specific model or generation you have, you’re not alone. With so many versions produced since BMW reintroduced the brand in 2001, it can be a little confusing to figure out exactly which MINI you drive — especially when people throw around chassis codes like R50, R56, or F60.
This guide from Mintech Spares UK will help you quickly and confidently identify your MINI model, using visual cues, registration years, body types, and official BMW chassis codes. Whether you drive a MINI ONE, a sporty Cooper S, or a roomy Countryman, we’ve got you covered.
Why It Matters
Knowing your MINI’s exact model helps when:
- Ordering the right parts or accessories
- Booking a service or diagnostic
- Selling your vehicle
- Understanding recalls or updates
Step 1: Check Your Registration Year

- The Cooper badge appears across many generations — it doesn’t define the model alone
